East Oxford Primary School

Our Governors

The school has a governing body, which has a wide range of duties and responsibilities.

Governing bodies are made up of representatives from the Local Authority, the school staff, parents and the local community. Our governing body meets in full once a term to consider the work of the school and to check that it is on track to meet the children's needs. Much of the work of the Governing Body is delegated to smaller committees, which meet regularly.

Our governors are very supportive and interested in the welfare and education of the children. They are kept fully informed of all aspects of school life, including the curriculum. They are also involved in the appointment of staff to the school. From time to time, elections are held for parent representatives.

The day-to-day leadership of the school rests with the Headteacher, who should usually be your first point of call for any queries or concerns you may have. Should you wish to make a complaint about the school, please see the relevant policy on the complaints page. Governors can be contacted via the school office.
